Ceramic Coating
What is a Ceramic Coating?
Unlike wax or sealant, Ceramic Coating is a semi-permanent liquid layer that bonds to the surface of the vehicle. It is commonly referred to as a "sacrificial" layer of protection as it'll absorb the weather elements like rain, dirt, and snow to better protect the paint underneath.
The Benefits of a Ceramic Coating:
Produces unmatched-durable protection that lasts 1 to 5 years of protection. (Sometimes longer)
You only need to apply it once
Creates a deep level of gloss that's incomparable to other forms of protection like wax or sealants
Provides unmatched hydrophobic properties
Why do hydrophobic properties matter?
Keeps your car cleaner
Makes it easier to wash
Protection against UV rays, which causes paint and trim to fade
Repels dirt and mud (making it easier to clean)
Watermarks won't be able to edge into the paint and cause damage
Bird droppings and tree sap will be easier to clean off and won't cause it to edge into the paint
Before the coating is installed, your vehicle must first be properly prepped and correct with our paint correction service. If you apply the coating without the proper prep work, you're not able to get the full benefits and longevity of the coating.
Along with not being properly installed, you will start seeing smudges across the vehicle. These are what we call "high spots". It happens when the coating was left to dry for too long without wiping off.
Common myths about Ceramic Coatings:
Yes, coatings are long-lasting and durable, but it has their limitations of what they can handle.
The coating will not make your paint scratch-proof. When we say the coating will resist light swirls and scratches, we mean very light swirls and scratches that will appear when improperly washing or drying the vehicle.
Always use a clean, wet wash mitt across the paint when washing and a leaf blower or compressed air when drying.
The coating will not protect your paint from rock chips. For that, you need paint protection film (PPF).
The coating requires maintenance to prolong its durability.
You have to properly wash, dry, and boost the coating for maximum durability.
A coating that was meant to last 5 years can start to break down at year 3 if not cared for properly.
